We're having our first-ever regional conference: CanvasCon Washington D.C. Come spend a day at the beautiful Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center learning about the ins and outs of Canvas from Instructure employees and other users who are using Canvas in exciting ways!

• Attend sessions that will assist you in your role. You’ll have two tracks to choose from, one for every day users of Canvas, and the other for more technical-oriented users and administrators.

We're currently accepting proposals for speakers. If you have something you'd like to present for CanvasCon, please send your proposal to Sunny Washington at sunnyw@instructure.com. All proposals must be received by September 30 to be considered.

Post-Conference Workshop

There will also be a postconference workshop on October 28 that will be led by one of our professional services trainers. This will be a hands-on workshop that will cover topics like best practices, using account level question banks, rubrics and learning outcomes. The cost for this half-day workshop will be $50.

Registration starts at 8:00 am. Welcome starts at 9:00 am

Topics include:

• Using Account level question banks 
• Using the SpeedGrader™ with Outcomes and Rubrics to promote more authentic assessment of student learning. 
• Using Student Groups for collaboration. 
• Comparing best practices for implementing Blended vs Completely Online vs Classroom use of Canvas.
• Keyboard shortcuts anyone? 

Participants should have previous experience using Canvas. You provide your passion; we'll provided a free Internet connection, top-notch trainers, digital resources to use during the workshop, and reference materials.

We’ve negotiated a discounted rate for CanvasCon attendees. The Gaylord National Resort is providing lodging for $179 per night. We highly recommend that you make your reservation by October 10 to secure your room(s).

All reservations require a one night deposit at time of booking and are fully refundable up until 3 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Inside 3 days of the scheduled arrival date, there is a one night cancel fee. No shows are considered a cancellation and once checked into the hotel any early departures will forfeit full reservation amount.
